I noticed water coming through my fireplace and bathroom exhaust fan, I reached out to Pillar and they came out to replace the rotting wood on my chimney that was causing the leak. I couldn't be more pleased with the results and to not have to worry about any more leaks. The crew was very kind, got the job done quickly, and cleaned up after themselves. We had a really good experience with Pillar Construction & Remodel for our 4 bathroom, 2nd story flooring upgrade and our external makeover. Obviously, with 4 bathrooms being completely ripped out and upgraded, with 4 people living in the house the entire time, it was a complex project to say the least! From the beginning, Shawn was great at project management. Any time we had a question or noticed an issue, he had the team immediately jump on it and get it corrected. Haley was also extremely responsive and provided auditable spreadsheets tracking the complete project estimate including actuals. Also with so much work being completed, we had to continuously talk about timelines and alignment with schedules that worked for us. We started this project at the beginning of this year and had to work around my son's graduation, traveling, house guests, etc. Our needs were ALWAYS taken into consideration which we greatly appreciated! Our bathrooms turned out beautifully! And the exterior of our house, which is something that I was initially afraid of doing but was really looking for a drastic change in appearance, turned out much better than I had expected! Every time I pull into the driveway and look at our house, I am just amazed and SO HAPPY we made those changes to its appearance. We have really enjoyed seeing how the new fiberglass door made to look like wood, looks exactly like wood! No one would be able to tell that it wasn't a real wood door. Living in this Florida humidity, we will never use anything else. It's just beautiful! I'm so glad that Shawn talked me into this option versus real wood! One thing that our neighbors mentioned to us was that they were amazed we had a crew showing up every day. A lot of friends commented that they have had nightmare projects with the project being dead for long periods of time because the crew wasn't showing up. Outside of family emergencies and such, the crew showed up when they said they would. Shawn mentioned to me when we were considering his company along with others, that it is his crew, his direct employees, that works on the house other than a few skilled tradesmen that he hires to come in when needed like plumbers, electricians, etc. All in all, we absolutely do recommend using Pillar Construction for any of your remodel needs. They are reliable, skilled and professional. I don't think you can really get better than that. And we have hired other companies to upgrade our kitchen as well as another bath in another house. Those were not companies that we would consider using again. I do not think you can go wrong by hiring Shawn and his crew. There isn't much left to our house that would need to be remodeled but should we find ourselves needing to, we absolutely would use Pillar Construction again. Shawn and his team did a great job with our backyard renovation, and it looks amazing! Shawn was excellent every step of the way, from the very first design/ budget meeting to the last punchlist item. He and his team were always super responsive and willing to make changes/ adjust/ revisit to make us happy. It was our first home project of this size, and he patiently answered all of our questions and helped us see our vision through, including coordination with outside vendors, such as pool and turf. I am especially appreciative of the countless hours he spent meeting and following up with the City of AB for the proper permits/ approvals. Other contractors would not have been so diligent in navigating the bureaucracy and all of the different opinions/ decisions held by various departments. I can honestly say that this project would not have gotten done without his patience, determination and follow through with the city.
